Silver solder wire has one very specific use in the guitar industry: fret repair. If you have a gouged, dinged or damaged fret and don’t want to completely replace it, silver solder fills in the void and can be leveled and crowned just like before. The wire is easy to cut into small pieces for precise placement or can be held with steel tweezers for direct soldering.
